Oh no oh no oh no oh no
I keep looking at the Bolin concept art for the new season, specifically the part with him creating a new team of Fire Ferrets. It’s really hitting me hard because I was thinking about why the heck he would even want to do that when everybody else was going off and doing their own thing. Then I realized that it was exactly because of that.
Everybody’s leaving him. Mako’s a cop, Korra’s busy with her Avatar duties, Asami’s rebuilding her company. But Bolin wouldn’t do anything else because he doesn’t know how to do anything else. Mako always took care of him and now that he’s off patrolling the city, Bolin has a lot more freedom, but he doesn’t know what to do with it.
So he does all he knows how to do. Compete in pro-bending tournaments.
And a little part of me is just sobbing right now because he has to have new teammates now, teammates that—going by that short scene—are less than the best. And why, why would he do that?
Maybe he’s trying to recreate the Fire Ferrets.

YOU SHOULDN’T BE NERVOUS, THIS IS BREATHTAKINGLY GORGEOUSI’m actually really nervous about posting these pages since the first page stood alone so well and was really well-received, but I finished, so here they are. My favourite pages ended up being the first and fifth, entirely because the colours were fun (and looking at my own stilted dialogue kind of kills me inside).
I like to think that if they had enough time, these bros could have made amends. Slowly, maybe, but an apology that’s more genuine than ‘I’m sorry for what I had to do to you’ is a start.
I just have so many feelings about Tarrlok and my questionable ability to write about them augh

My dashboard has been overwhelmed by an onslaught of Tarrlok and Noatak feels today. It’s so sad that Yakone essentially threw away this beautiful, happy family in his sick, obsessive pursuit of revenge. His escape from his life sentence in prison was a second chance, and he destroyed it. Not only was it harmful to him, but also to his innocent wife and children. :/
Wowowow this was supposed to just be a sketch as a break from a long comic I’m working on but I have a lot of trouble keeping things simple and easy.
I guess this is if Korra didn’t get her bending back…?? And the untapped aquifer of character potential that is Tahno.
