this. scene. is. amazing.
The scene of Cas attempting to apologize to Dean is one of my favorite scenes of the entire show. And it should be yours, too.
The writing was fantastic but what really makes it perfect is the acting. Every single minute detail of Misha and Jensen’s performances are part of the narrative. Every piece of body language is important. Jared was spectacular too.
I wanted to write out what exactly happened in the scene so I could have it all straight in my head, but then I started noticing all those little details. And I had to write them all down. So here is that scene, written in the form of fanfiction. If I hadn’t seen the episode with my own eyes and I’d read this first, I would assume this is purely fanfiction. But you can watch the scene yourself and see that this shit actually happened. On the show.
So Dean says he’s going to make a run for supplies.
Cas says “Dean, I’ll go with you.”
Dean ignores him.
Cas repeats his name to get his attention but he’s still ignoring him so he says “I’m sorry.”
THIS gets Dean’s attention- he seems to be amused as he puts on his coat, in that way that very angry people get amused when they’re about to lash out.
“For what?” Dean asks.
Cas actually hesitates and searches for what to say but all he can think of is: “For everything.”
Dean’s response is almost instant like he was expecting Cas to say that. “Everything?”
And this is Dean’s cue to finally give Cas a piece of his mind.

know when you’re reading a destiel fic and you’re like two-thirds of the way through it and all a sudden everything starts rolling off the rails and they get in a fight and they’re both heartbroken for like half a chapter
that is where we are right now. she’s right. we should love this scene.
